This came out at the same time Disney’s live action version and is far superior! I love that Mowgli was actually played by an Indian kid. In the history of Jungle Book films, an actual Indian boy has never once been cast as Mowgli except this one and Disney’s most recent live action version. Personally though, if you want the best Jungle Book on film, find the Chuck Jones animated version. It pulls no punches and adheres to the books better than any other. Kipling was a remarkable person. Frankly I don’t see why a movie hasn’t been made just about him.
